Independence Day

We had an awesome 4th of July.  Mt Trashmore has a huge festival with lots of food and games and fireworks.  We stood in line for over an hour to get our faces painted, then ate gyros and cotton candy and kettlecorn.  They had big inflatable bouncers for the kids and a couple of bands.  The hill we were sitting on is pretty steep, but the girls must have run up and down in 20 times, just playing and having fun and being silly.
At about 9:00, we could start seeing fireworks just above the treeline from the next city over.  Apple was so excited and would point and shout, "Yay!" and bounce every time she saw one.  We thought that she would really be excited when ours started.  After the first one shot off, though, she got really quiet and tucked herself into her daddy's lap and just stared.  It was so cute.  Strawberry on the other hand, went crazy and jumped up and down shouting "Woohoo, woohoo" for twenty minutes straight.  It was very adorable.  The show was pretty impressive and we were very close and were able to get the full effect.  Definitely the best 4th of July we've had in a long time.

What a fun day! I thought Kimmy would love the fireworks, but instead she cried for the first 10 minutes on my shoulder and moaned the rest of the time. Is that mountain really called Mt. TRASHmore? How funny!
