The past couple of weeks have been a little painful for two of us. Luke sprained his ankle pretty severely while playing "War-ball" at work. The doctor he went to at first gave him a splint with ace wraps and crutches and told him to stay off it for a week. Luke figured that meant 2 days so that Sunday, he just wrapped it and limped up to the pulpit. An orthopedic PA happens to be in our ward and made Luke come over and examined his ankle, told him to stay off it for a month and gave him the boot-cast pictured above. Thank goodness for awesome people. And thank goodness that we are going to grad school next month and he really can give it time to heal before he has to get back into working out hard. It is still bruised and swollen 2 weeks later.
Apple was the victim of the very contagious "hand-foot-and-mouth" disease that struck the nursery and primary. The poor little thing had serious sores all over her mouth and we could barely get her to even drink. She was so hungry and would see something to eat and get really excited, but as soon as it was in her mouth, she would start crying pitifully and spit it out. It was so sad. Thank goodness it only lasted three days and she didn't get dehydrated. She managed to overcome the pain for strawberry milk and lived on that the whole time.
