Luke passed his SCWS board! Months of studying paid off and now he will actually get to have some spare time. I'm expecting long emails now. :) He ended up having to do it on pretty short notice and he was pretty stressed, but managed to pull it off beautifully, of course. The process is 48 hours and involves very little sleep, and it sounds like they threw a surprise or two at him. He had the final board with his CO and a couple other officers. I know from experience how badly your brain works on no sleep. He was excited enough after passing it that he called me and he sounded soooo tired. It made me want him home where he could sleep in our comfortable bed instead of whatever he has over there. He also got his assignment for homeport which will be a really busy one, but shows that the people in charge think quite a bit of his leadership skills. So yay. Good news from Aghanistan.
Now here's a completely unrelated, but very cute picture. Mango's hair has gotten long enough that it doesn't stick up on its own anymore, but makes for lots of fun in the bathtub.

YEA! Congratulations Luke! That sounds so much like Andy's experience; he was on deployment too. It was such a relief for me when Andy passed :) I wish you lots of long emails and phone time.
Cute picture of baby Mango!
HEY LUKE, Congratulations! That is awesome, as are you. That had to be tough doing your studying while being in charge of your group doing the base building. You are amazing and we are very happy for you and proud of you and appreciate all you are doing. What a great example you are setting for your little family - and for the rest of us, for that matter!
We love you, the Lemans
