Someday, My Prince Will Come Back

We had to say goodbye recently to some awesome friends, and it was the hardest on little Apple. J had been one of her best friends at church and at preschool and last week, his family up and moved to Japan. She was crazy about him and would always talk about how she was going to marry him someday. Well, one day they were sitting in the back of my minivan on the way home from school and she proposed to him and he accepted. So they've been engaged for a few weeks now. It was sort of an on-again off-again thing, but by the time he left, they had worked everything back out. Apple was so infatuated with him that she suddenly became interested in all the things he liked. She started asking me if we could watch Star Wars, when previously, she had protested loudly because Strawberry wanted to watch them all the time. I was a little nervous because I didn't want to her start changing for a boy. But then we had J over for a couple hours and he totally played Barbies with her. So they weren't changing. They were expanding. Luke and I did that for each other too. :) It was very sweet and she was heartbroken when he left. But someday, when they are both 25, maybe he will come back and sweep her off her feet.
