Moving to Arizona

We got out of our pretty little apartment on August 1st and started our trip by first driving up to Richmond.  We decided to pull our car behind our truck on a tow dolly from Uhaul.  Those poops!  About 20 minutes after we left the rental place, the brake light fell off the dolly and people honked at us until we pulled over on the freeway.  Luke used some plastic ties and his Leather man to reconnect it, but when I called the rental place about it, they said we must have done something wrong, it wasn't his problem, and we were going to have to pay for the damages.  I was so steamed.  Luke got us off the freeway and really secured the thing while I called the Uhaul guy we would be dropping it off to.  He was much nicer and said that as long as the light would stay on and we were safe, we should just not worry about it and keep going on our trip and that he wouldn't hold us liable for anything.  Thank goodness for cool people.  This turned out to be our only technical difficulty on the whole trip.  Luke ended up driving the entire way because I was barely comfortable driving the truck, let alone pulling a trailer.  The girls weren't quite as well behaved as they were on the last trip across the country, but we managed to survive the trip.  We made it in good time and got to Mesa on August 5th at about noon.  We weren't able to get into our house, but stayed with my parents for the next couple of nights.  We are thrilled with our new home.  We will send pictures as soon as we take some.  The neighborhood is really nice.  We are on a cul-de-sac with 3 other couples from our ward.  We live right across the street from our church building.  The elementary school is awesome and less than 3/4 mile away.  The house itself is twice as big as our apartment was and has a 3-car garage.  We really got lucky with this place (thanks Mom and Dad!) which was totally underpriced for the market.  It is nice to pamper ourselves with a nice place, even though it will only be for a year.  We will get pictures out soon, but right now we are definitely loving Mesa.  More posts to come. We hardly took any pictures on the trip.  One is a rest stop in Texas and the other is a store in Arizona with petrified wood.
