She was beaming when she told me about it because he is the first boy to ever acknowledge he has a crush on her. She still didn't get why he suddenly decided to not be friends :). She forgot to make me promise never to tell anyone, and it is such a cute story, I had to share. I'm such a terrible mom. :)
Update: this kid is a player. Strawberry said that he was doing the "I don't want to be friends anymore" again for no reason, then at the lunch recess she said he did something really bad: he kissed another girl on the lips. After recess, the boy asked Strawberry if she wanted him to break up with the girl he kissed and Strawberry said no, he shouldn't, but then at the third recess, he did break up with that girl. Crush over, but she isn't sure who she should have a crush on now. *Sigh* Things get complicated the older they get. I'll just tell her to stay away from boys completely because they are poopheads. At least she has a couple of guy friends in the neighborhood that she just has fun with.

Oh the joys of being young and having crushes. There will be many more. But I agree with you that she should just forget about boys until she is much older, they are poopheads unless they are my boys or grandboys.
